Burnout is s ate of complete mental, physical, and emotional exhaustion
7 Signs or Symptoms you might be experiencing Burnout
  1. Disconnection from ppl around , go inward, super toxic, effect on relationships and impacts us physiologically
  2. Emotional exhaustion, small things start to bother you, outbursts of anger
  3. Lack of creativity, can’t think of new ideas of solve problems
  4. Inability to gain pleasure through simple everyday things
  5. Procrastination, don’t take action or can’t make decisions
  6. Self care disappears, food choices, comfort eat more, up late, relying on caffeine to get us through or alcohol or substances to take the edge off
  7. Physical exhaustion tired and wired, brain fog

10 step action plan to recover from Burnout
  1. Potentially Engage with a human being: like seriously make some time to meet with an actual human
  2. Prioritize sleep - sleep deprivation leads to less creativity, more caffeine, less empathy – get 7-8 hrs sleep, wind down an hour before bed in the  evenings before bed, set an alarm: campfire time (story time)
  3. Learn to say “no”, ultimate self care when we stop giving too much of ourselves, creating boundaries, stop being that ppl pleaser and putting your own needs last, gives the message to ourselves that we are not enough, be truthful and authentic in your no saying
  4. Get some natural light in the morning to start your day and throughout the day
  5. Less caffeine, when we are having to rely on caffeine
  6. So something everyday that brings you joy, makes you more reilsient stress, give your self 5, daily dose of  pleasure… cup of tea breathing
  7. Do some movement every day, even if it is just swinging your arms, salut to the sun or walking outside or a class, yoga. It doesn’t have to be much, but 3-5 mintues can make all the difference
  8. Pay attention to your food intake, don’t eat late, watch comfort eating, don’t eat in front of the tv, check in… what am I really feeling here…own your choices
  9. Define end of your workday, what does that look like? Schedule song or something when work from home, we don’t have that drive to detach from our workday we need to create that.
  10. Schedule in rest, that doesn’t mean binge watching Netflix, but actually resting. It might be like colouring in, or doing some craft…things with our hands, finding space to meditate
Bonus step:
Long term reflections
Are you living in alignment with your values, long term, what do you want in your life, dare to dream. How much of my life this week did I live in accordance with my life and how much in conflict with them
